Beginner's Kintsugi Workshop @ Narita Airport
Back to this experience's highlights https://narita-beyond.jp/en/activity/kintsugi ☆What is Kintsugi? Kintsugi is a traditional Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold or other precious materials. Instead of hiding the cracks, Kintsugi highlights them—embracing imperfections as part of the object’s history. It reflects the Japanese philosophy of finding beauty in imperfection and valuing the story behind each piece. You will repair a small plate, approximately the size of a soy sauce dish, using epoxy resin and imitation gold powder. The workshop is guided in English by an experienced instructor. You can take your completed piece home with you. ☆Highlights of the Workshop ・Perfect for transit passengers: Held inside Narita Airport, this workshop is designed for travelers with a layover, offering a unique and meaningful way to spend your time. ・Quick and beginner-friendly: The entire session takes about one hour and is suitable for complete beginners. ・Hands-on experience: Repair a small plate using the modern Kintsugi method with epoxy resin and imitation gold powder. ・English instruction: Guided step-by-step in English by a skilled instructor. ・Take-home souvenir: You can take your completed Kintsugi piece home as a personal memento of Japan. ☆Important Notes: • Please make your reservation at least 10 minutes before the start of the workshop. • Please arrive at the venue 10 minutes before the workshop begins. • The workshop is open to participants 18 years and older. • Pregnant individuals are not allowed to participate.
